I am heartbroken to learn about the loss of Selina, who was a student in my Environmental Science class in Fall 2024. Selina was a shining star who brought incredible energy and insight to our class discussions. She enrriched our classes with her unique perspective and clever commentary. My deepest condolences to her family and friends.
Selina was such a bright student. It seemed like classes always started with a discussion that Selina had begun before class started. She could memorize entire royal family trees of the Middle Ages for fun and lead a discussion with ease. I enjoyed her intelligence, presence, enthusiasm, personality, memory, and directness in my classes. Selina taught me so much about showing up and jumping in no mater what the circumstance, and I am sure she had no idea that she had modeled that. I am so sorry for her family’s loss and for our loss.
Selina was one of the first people I met at MMC. She was in one of the first classes I took and I was lucky enough to share several classes with her since. She really made an impression on me, she was kind and always had encouraging words to share with anyone. In tough times you knew you could count on the fact that she would have something to say to cheer you up, something the world needs more of. My heart goes out to Selina and her family. I hope that she knows how much we truly loved and appreciated her.

My deepest condolences to the Persaud family. I had the fortune of learning alongside Selina in several college classes, and working on our capstone projects together. Selina was a light of life, knowledge, and compassion - I cherish every conversation and connection we shared in the years we knew each other, and I am so immensely thankful to have gotten to know her.
selina, u will live in my heart forever. u were truly an angel to everyone around u. i wish i could have been around more. u were so kind and never judged the crazy things my 13 year old self saw as interesting. i will always remember u for ur kindness and gentle spirit. thank u for always being a positive light in my life. melara
She was always super sweet to everyone and a lot of people loved her, including myself. I will never forget her voice or the random videos she would share. my condolences to all of her family. Rest easy sweet girl, you will forever be loved.
Dear Selina and her loved ones, Selina’s passing is such an incredible loss to the MMC community. Selina offered so much friendship and guidance to me, personally, but also to her other classmates. She was so eloquently spoken and well informed. There have been many occasions where she offered her knowledge to me. I remember during the mourning period of Queen Elizabeth she sat with me and explained what that process was going to look like in England. There was another time where she educated me on Japanese immigration policies. Another time where she sat down with me and another friend and explained to us how steam boat engines worked. I am lucky to have known her. Selina will be greatly missed.

My selina iam alana aunt nicole and that what all the kids called me ! Especially Selina I remember the Helen Keller camp and being with all these amazing kids watching them ride bikes play baseball they are the most amazing kids ! I love them all ! Me Selina would listen to jlo in my car she loved it we would dance too it ! I hope you’re resting in peace my sweet girl aunt nicole loves you ! And will always remember you and our time together . Until we meet again I will always hold you close to my heart love always aunt nicole! I will play jlo for you in my car tonight !
