Sarwan Persaud's Obituary
In Loving Memory of Sarwan Persaud April 29, 1962 - May 8, 2024
Sarwan Persaud, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and master craftsman, peacefully passed away on May 8, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering dedication.
Born in Guyana on April 29, 1962, Sarwan was the son of the late Ganga and Tapresee Persaud. Sarwan began his journey as a carpenter at a young age, honing his skills with dedication and passion. His craftsmanship graced the walls of prominent and historic buildings in his homeland before he embarked on a new chapter, migrating to the United States with his family on May 20, 2000.
In the United States, Sarwan's talent and work ethic propelled him to the role of supervisor in a local construction company. His love for building was not only evident in his professional endeavors but also in the way he poured his heart into every project, including his own home, which he meticulously designed and rebuilt from the inside out.
Sarwan's legacy transcends his mastery in carpentry; he embodied the essence of familial strength. Ever ready to extend a hand, he imbued his children with the virtues of diligence, appreciation, and resilience. His devotion to his family, including his beloved wife Kamal, four cherished children - Devin, Amit, Manisha, and Amisha - his five adored grandchildren - Sophia, Alyssa, Sariya, Cadence, and Ariella - his daughter-in-law Cerissa, intended sons-in-law Anthony and Ryan, along with his siblings-Naresh, Sham, Ram, Shirley (deceased) and Dolly was unwavering. They constituted the very core of his being.
As his health declined, Sarwan faced his illness with bravery and clarity of purpose. He ensured that his end-of-life wishes were understood and respected by his loved ones. True to his nature, he even selected the attire he would wear for his final journey and specified that his coffin be crafted from his favorite wood, mahogany.
Though Sarwan may have left this world, his spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew him. His memory will be cherished, his stories will be told, and his legacy will endure through his children and grandchildren. As he embarks on his next journey, we take comfort in knowing that he is now constructing a new temple in heaven.
We love you, Dad. Thank you for everything. Rest in peace.
