Perry Soodeen's Obituary
We are gathered here today in the memory of Perry Soodeen who passed in the comfort of his home on Sunday July 23 2023 while surrounded by his loved ones.
Perry was born on July 24 1944 in Trinidad and Tobago to the late Ramsaroop and Ramdey Soodeen.
He began his professional journey as a tractor driver creating the existing roadways and highways in Northern Trinidad. His first love of operating the Excavator, cut the roads straight to heart of his next love, the late Radha Soodeen and there they built a family, Rita Roger and the late Karen Soodeen.
His Journey continued to New York after the passing of Radha where he met Muny Charles and convinced her that she prayed and god sent him to answer her prayers. His family continued to grow when the Soodeens and the Seebachan’s became one.
How do you summarize the backbone of a family in a few lines.
Father to his sisters and his children, husband, father in law, grandfather and a friend of many.
His energy was contagious and if you didn’t see him coming, you definitely heard the sound system from a block away. He was known for taking pride in his ride, his many unpredicted nap times and for sneaking out snacks Hint “for the grandchildren” from the cupboard. He was also know for his infamous sneaker collection which took him to many places like going out to pick up ice…which would take at least an hour!
His friendly smile and addictive personality also coined him with a collection of nicknames like Papi Chulo, Saga boy, Johnson, Chuck, Mickey, Chalky and Papi.
However you may remember him, he has left an immeasurable void in all our hearts and will be dearly missed. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Muny, children, grand children, daughter-in-law Lauren, siblings, Aunts, Uncles, cousins, many other family members and friends.
Loving submitted by the Family.
