Oscar Palomino's Obituary
On April 26th, 2020 Oscar Ruperto Palomino Ferrer, passed away peacefully after a battle with COVID at the age of 82. Loving husband to Salis Molina for 14 years. Survived by children Oscar Jr., Angelica (Miguel), Arlene (Jose Luis), Janet (Joseph) and siblings Jose, Agusto, Consuelo and Cristina. Beloved grandfather to Miguel, Melissa, Noeli, Penelope, Jose Luis Jr., Salvino and Giuseppe and great-grandfather to Ava Juliette. Dearly loved by his stepchildren Josefina (Wilver), Alexandra (Marcos), Yudi (Osisris) and Ricardo (Olga) and their children Wendy, Wildania, Abel, Genesis, Ahymar, Seth, Richel and Geichel. Predeceased by his parents Alfonso and Mercedes Palomino, wife Noemi Eufemia of 21 years , son Rodolfo (Gianina) and sister Lucy. Will be forever remembered by nieces, nephews and countless other loved ones in New York, Canada, Spain and Peru.
Born in Lima, Peru on July 5th, 1937, Oscar was one of three fraternal triplets who were considered to be the first triplets born in the capital of Peru. As a child, he would help clean up after animals when the traveling circus would come into town, all for free admission. That is where his lifelong dream of becoming a clown started. He loved making people laugh. As an adolescent he spent his days swimming in the river, bringing home little fish in a can much to his mother’s dismay. He made it to New York City at the age of 33 to start a new life. Proudly employed for over 40 years at Kravit Jewelers, a second family to him. Oscar was loved by all who worked with him. He was known for his sense of humor and quick wit. He was devoted to all his family and was always ready to support as needed. Oscar was recognized by his family and friends as a real class act.
Oscar’s family extends heartfelt appreciation to all the doctors, nurses and staff at LIJ Valley Stream Hospital for caring for him so dearly. A private viewing will be held on Monday, May 25th, 2020 at Bergen Funeral Service. The burial will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery the following morning. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, a cause dear to his heart.

Abuelo amado de Miguel, Melissa, Noeli, Penélope, José Luis Jr., Salvino y Giuseppe y bisabuelo a Ava Juliette. Querido por sus hijastros Josefina (Wilver), Alexandra (Marcos), Yudi (Osisris) y Ricardo (Olga) y sus hijos Wendy, Wildania, Abel, Génesis, Ahymar, Seth, Richel y Geichel. Sus padres Alfonso y Mercedes Palomino, su esposa Noemi Eufemia Zamudio de 21 años, su hijo Rodolfo (Gianina) y su hermana Lucy, les antecedieron a Oscar. Será recordado para siempre por sobrinas, sobrinos e innumerables seres queridos en Nueva York, Canadá, España y Perú.
Nacido en Lima, Perú, el 5 de julio de 1937, Oscar fue uno de los tres trillizos fraternos que fueron considerados como los primeros trillizos nacidos en la capital del Perú. Cuando era niño, ayudaba a limpiar a los animales cuando el circo ambulante llegaba a la ciudad, todo para la entrada gratuita. Ahí es donde comenzó su sueño de toda la vida de ser payaso. Le encantaba hacer reír a la gente. Cuando era adolescente pasó sus días nadando en el río, trayendo a casa pequeños peces en una lata para gran consternación de su madre. Llegó a la ciudad de Nueva York a la edad de 33 años para comenzar una nueva vida. Orgullosamente empleado durante más de 40 años en Kravit Jewelers, una segunda familia para él. Oscar era amado por todos los que trabajaron con él. Era conocido por su sentido del humor y su ingenio rápido. Era dedicado a toda su familia y siempre estaba dispuesto a apoyar y ayudar a quien lo necesitaba. Oscar fue reconocido por su familia y amigos como un hombre humilde y sencillo.
La familia de Oscar extiende un sincero agradecimiento a todos los médicos, enfermeras y personal del HOSPITAL LIJ Valley Stream por cuidarlo tan cariñosamente. El lunes 25 de mayo de 2020 se llevará a cabo una visita privada en Bergen Funeral. El entierro se llevará a cabo en el Cementerio Maple Grove la mañana siguiente. En lugar de flores, se pueden hacer donaciones en su memoria al St, Jude Children’s Hospital, que el quería y patrocinaba.
