Nancy and Luis lived down the street for me on 123rd street. Mr Torres always had a warm smile and I knew how much he cherished his family. Today we celebrate his life and know he has received his eternal reward with His Savior - Jesus. RIP Mr. Torres
I will always be grateful my dad showed me around Peru, Lima and Cuzco, and took me to Machu Picchu. He was a strong man - even stronger than me on the hike up that mountain. God bless him

My dad was the ultimate family provider and protector and I will be eternally grateful for his parenting. From the time I was a little boy delivering newspapers - I remember getting my bicycle stolen and
coming home crying. He went out with me in his car, driving around the neighborhood - and saw the kid riding the bike! He beeped his horn and drove toward him and the thief dropped the bike and ran off. He was and always will be my hero.
When I was very young and careless, I didn't take very good care of my
first car. I seized the engine for lack of replenishing the oil. Rather than junk it, he bought wood and a pulley and constructed his own engine
lift. Went out and purchased a rebuilt engine and dropped it in the car -
all by himself! He gave new life to the car which I ultimately let him have, and he drove it for I believe a good 5-8 more years. Very smart in mechanics, he was always a do-it-yourself kind of person, and I like to think that I inherited that from him.
I will miss him dearly
Hi Nancy, my condolences to you and your family. It’s not easy losing a parent! Sending you a comforting hug 🙌🙏 you were a great daughter to him, Matt told me all the care you gave him. Barbara (Matt’s Stepdaughter)

Dear Nancy, I am so sorry for your loss of your Dad. I am praying for him that he finds peace in heaven with his bride. I am sure he is very grateful to you and your brother for the care you have given him. Also I am quite sure he is very happy that he is no longer burdening your lives. (I know you don't see it as a burden). He and I didn't know each other personally however through your stories of him, I can tell he was a sturdy honest proud man, a dedicated family man who loved his wife and children. He lived a good life and will be forever remembered. RIP Luis.
