Karmanand Persad's Obituary
Karmanand “Karo” Persad, at age 68, ascended to the Heavens on Monday February 6th, 2017. He was from Chaguanas, Trinidad but enjoyed living in Queens, New York since 1990. He was loving husband to Preamwati (Prema) Persad, father to Shrivani Simmons and father-in-law to Marc Simmons. He was a very proud and fun grandfather to Hudson Simmons (age 7) and Grayson Simmons (age 2). Karo also thought of his niece and nephew Aneila and Anil Persad, their spouses and kids as own, always referring to Nirvana, Maya and Noah as his grandchildren. He joins his parents, Rajnanand and Binmatee Persad and siblings Anand and Deva Persad, leaving behind two sisters, Draupatie and Mira Persad. He was very close to his cousin Radesh who he considered a brother and was well supported by his extended family of friends who he met during many years singing, especially in Queens, NY as part of Gyaan Bhakti Satsangh.
