At a young age James along with his family moved to New York City where he resided until the day he departed his borrowed body here on earth. James was a man of values and strength. He took things serious and when he said something he not only stuck to it but he meant it.
James met a young lady from Hughes Arkansas who at the time was visiting her relatives and when she went home he sent for her to come back and as her sister said "she hauled ass" and at 17 went back to New York City. James left school and got his GED and started working to take care of that young lady Bobbie Ann Johnson who graduated Beach Channel High while pregnant and conceived their first born Theresa in July of 1976. James always worked two jobs, a working man who took care of home. Later on in 1978 he had his 1st and only son James Jr and his pride and joy Kewanna in 1981. James retired after working 25 years with the NYC Department of Education. James wore many hats: Coach, Referee,
Counselor, Security and School aide just to name a few. For many years working with the Rev. Mason Community Center Beacon Program located in Jhs 198 he hosted an Annual Gospel Show and numerous Basketball tournaments. James lived a good life. Grumpy and all and too many accolades to mention he became a member of New Hope Baptist Church of Far Rockaway under Pastor Rev.
