Vish Jagnanan
Essa’s passing was swift. It was painless and peaceful. It was without the disquiet, the uncertainty and suffering that follows terminal illness. It was as if he, himself had chosen the time of passing and the god almighty, Allah, approved the request from one of his devoted subjects.
Essa wanted to be at home. He was discharged from the hospital on Saturday, and his soul departed Sunday, June 18, approximately 12 hours after.
We pain for individuals whose memory resurrect kindness, friendliness. We pain for individuals whose life is distinguished with helpful and charitable acts. Moreover,it is even more painful when such acts are done with an uneventful and dignified quietness. Essa was imbued with those qualities and much more. It is a pity such souls do not have an unending sojourn in life.
Those of us who have had the pleasure of spending time with Essa will miss him dearly.
My sincere condolences to Didi, Amon, Jayol, Kavi and all others.
May Allah grant Essa’s soul eternal comfort and peace.
