As I write this, I still can’t believe you’re gone, Doris. For the past 20 years you’ve been such an integral part of our family, and I’m so thankful to have had you in our lives. You loved my sister and helped shape so much of who she is today. Meeting your family was one of the best things that ever happened to us, your girls became my sister’s lifelong best friends, and you all became family to my mother and me.
I’ll always remember how you’d give me little pieces of advice about what to do at home and your first time mom hacks, your practical wisdom and warm laugh made things easier and I will miss that deeply.
I’m so grateful for the love you showed my daughter. It breaks my heart that she won’t get to hear your stories and guidance herself, but I feel incredibly lucky and grateful that I was able to learn from you and carry some of your wisdom with me.
