Daniel Melendez Sr.'s Obituary
Daniel Melendez, 84, of Bronx, New York died on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, New York.
Daniel was born on April 12, 1938, to Cesario and Petra Melendez in Ceiba, Puerto Rico. He married Blanca Iris Chevere on November 17, 1962, in New York City. She died on October 27, 2008. He was a devoted husband and father who had a great sense of humor and enjoyed good company.
Daniel was an avid coin collector, and a huge baseball fan with a vast knowledge of its history. As an active member of his church, Fuente Salvacion Misionera, he conducted bible studies for over 40 years and served as treasurer. For the majority of his life he was a purchaser and merchandiser for a privately owned supermarket in Manhattan.
Daniel leaves to mourn his passing his son, Daniel Melendez, and his wife, Maria Edith, of Queens, New York; daughter, Maribelle Maurer, and her husband, Timothy, of Eureka, Illinois; daughter, Alma Falk Melendez, with her husband, Michael, of Munich, Germany; son, Abel Melendez, with Kimberly of Bronx, New York; five brothers, two sisters, seventeen grandchildren, and two great-granddaughters.
