Our heartfelt sympathy go out to Bro. Azad Khan and family and all our extended, beloved cousins and aunties and uncles in the Rahman family - on the loss of our beautiful, spunky, loving and charming Sister Sahiedan Khan (nee Rahman). We have many wonderful and beautiful memories spent at the family home in Le Destin with sister Saheidan, Bro Azad and her parents Uncle Rahman and Aunty Magee (RIP), and her many siblings and their families.
Those visits were always loving, welcoming, sharing of family love, lots of laughter and fun, exploratory visits to the back dam, fishing, climbing trees, swimming in the pond and eating lots of food while visiting the multiple family homes nearby … love and hugs to all the families still alive during this time of grief loss. May the soul of our precious one travel safely to God and be united with family who have gone before. May the precious memories of family bond and ties keep us united and loved forever.

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our dear Aunty Bebe. Though she was my aunt through marriage—my mother being her sister‑in‑law—she never treated us as anything less than her own family. From childhood to adulthood, she welcomed us with the same warmth, humour, and generosity she gave to everyone she loved.

Aunty Bebe had a gift for making people feel seen. Whether it was a kind word, a gentle laugh, or the way she remembered the small details of your life, she carried a quiet grace that made every interaction meaningful. Even when we didn’t see each other often, we always felt connected to her. She had that rare ability to make distance feel smaller.

She was a pillar in our extended family—steady, compassionate, and full of heart. Her presence brought comfort, her stories brought joy, and her kindness left an imprint that will stay with us forever. We will always be grateful for the love she showed my mother, for the way she embraced all of us, and for the example she set simply by being herself.

Though we mourn her loss, we celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the love she shared so freely. May her soul rest in peace, and may her memory continue to guide and inspire us.

THE PASSING OF A GREAT SOUL THAT MUST NEVER BE FORGOTTEN.
BIBI SAHIEDAN RAHMAN-KHAN
- of Le Destin, East Bank, Essequibo.
When someone passes - we should celebrate their contribution to society, at large.
Bibi Sahidan Rahman-Khan aught to be remembered for her invaluable contribution to her immediate family and to society at large.
It will take a book to describe her the role she played in the freedom of Guyana from the White Colonial masters. She taught us how organise and resist the brutaltiy of the British colonial cruelty and barbarity.
She was very upset, when as a young woman, the British soldiers entered the kitchen on a Saturday night and stuck their bayonets into her cakes; searching for bullets.
What can one do at that point in time. That is what she and the rest of the family had to put up with during the long and bitter battles for INDEPENDENCE - that so many take for granted.
We, her younger siblings, called her, Didi, meaning Sister.
Didi touched everyone, who met her. She was respectful and demanded similar respect and courtesy.
I grew up with my sister in Corentyne, Berbice, where she worked as the Community Development Officer, in Port Mourant sugar estate, where she met her husband, Azad Khan, a Teacher.
I attended the Corentyne High School, now Chandisingh Secondary school.
Didi was also a teacher. She taught Home Economics at the Vergenoegen Primary school.
Above all, DIDI was loving, kind, cultured, and an eloquent public speaker.
She had no notes when spoke at numerous functions. She kept her audience listening with wrapped attention throughout her delivery.
She was our father's favourite daughter, who carried on our religious belief system and community activities, which has become the family's legacy- a task that we are duty-bound to follow and do better in our own ways and means.
DIDI LIVES AND HER SPIRIT WILL CONTINUE TO SHINE IN HER CHILDREN, GRAND CHILDREN AND ALL HER SLIBINGS, FRIENDS AND FOLLOWERS!!
RIP, DIDI !🤝🔥💕
