Jai Persaud was more than just a former colleague from his time at Elmhurst Hospital — he was a joyful presence and a true friend. His sudden passing came as a complete shock, especially since not long ago we had been talking about meeting to catch up, something that now feels even more precious in hindsight.
Even after he left Elmhurst, Jai never allowed distance to break our friendship. He had a way of popping up with a thoughtful message or a simple hello, a small gesture that always carried big warmth. That was Jai: thoughtful, kind, and genuinely caring.
Rest in peace and rise in glory Jai! I will never forget you.
